I've been thinking about this photo link thing lately, and eRichie's and David's posts prompt me to speak out. (I really loved browsing through David's great photos. Thanks David!)

In looking back through my old book-marked list of photo links, I counted at least 25 PhotoPoint links from CR list members. I really miss having access to that resource and want to encourage list members to create new photo albums of all those really cool bicycles you all have stashed away. Maybe everyone's a little gun-shy after the PhotoPoint collapse, but I really think it's worth the effort to give it another try. Just make sure you save your photos to disc as well, so you have a back up.

I had a fairly extensive assemblage of photo albums on the PhotoPoint site, but also had back-up files of most everything (there were a few minor exceptions). I'm currently in the process of rebuilding albums on ImageStation (http://www.imagestation.com/). It's a slow process, but I'm plodding away and hope to have everything back up there some day. I'm not really endorsing ImageStation, as there are a lot of other choices out there (Yahoo, Club Photo, Ofoto, etc.), but ImageStation seemed best, at least for my purposes, of the various services I tried. Most are free, but some do have small charges for permanent storage or greater storage capacity. Yes, I lost my $20 PhotoPoint subscription fee, but I still feel like I got a lot for my money. Moreover, a lot of other people had the opportunity to see some of my bikes, and I got to see lot of other people's bikes, many of which I would never have had the opportunity to see any other way.

So I'm encouraging CR list members who have the capability, especially those who had previously posted to PhotoPoint, to once again post pictures and share the link with the list. I'll even volunteer to compile a CR photo-link list. If members would like to send me their links, I'll compile a master list and post so that everyone can save it however it best suits their needs.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your up loading!
