I recently acquired an early 1980s Gitane Criterium, royal blue, 57cm c-t, Super Vitus frame with a variety of French components including a Stronglight Crank with drilled chainrings. The bike is unusually light with delta cutouts in the lugs. In cleaning the Simplex rear derailleur , I discovered a model number "SX 630" and a sticker on the derailleur body which says "Bernard Hinault". The derailleur is all metal, not plastic like the common Delrin units. Was this derailleur a special edition celebrating "The Badger's" TDF success? The bike also has Weinmann 405 brake calipers. How do these compare to the Weinmann 605 brake calipers? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
