Chuck's description of the skinnier Reynolds blades as "non-Continental" is understandable, and better at getting the idea across than Reynolds' own nomenclature, which seems to be designed to confuse. Reynolds used the name Continental to denote the *skinny* oval (the classic Reynolds oval of yore), and their version of the fat Columbus-style oval was called "New Continental Oval" or NCO.
I don't think I've ever heard that usage anywhere outside of a Reynolds catalog though - it's just dumb IMO, and riders and builders wisely ignored the Reynolds terms.
