..... Upon comprehending your wisdom I (grasshopper) nodded sheepishly in agreeance. Looking closer i noticed they are drilled and reamed divots and not punched as i had first thought. There is not much metal there anyway and to use Lou Deeter's line ... "im not an engineer and i dont play one on TV either" but it seems a kinda confident place to shave some wieght.

Chuck, any hints as to what model or type they may be? Are they the "Pista Special"?. Why the 2 weights noted beside that model/weight data on the CR site page?

A few neighbours who have many visitors at all hours (including the police) would seem likely to have an accurate digital scale to weigh them. Im considering asking them but i dont have a Grateful Dead t-shirt ...... perhaps the post office scale is a better option.
