Subject: [CR]Huge 3 Family Yard Sale!

Howdy, Karl Eicher here. Regular listers with good memory may find me vaguely familiar. Every time the cow jumps over the moon, I post (look, there she goes...). Here's some stuff for sale, all within the time frame of the CR list. Some is Asian in origion, lots is old European and American stuff. All is lightwieght road bike equipment.

If you want something, and want fast results, reply with the CR header off of your mailing. I use filters for my mail, and stuff with the bike list header will go into the bin of 46,312 messages, on which I'm a little behind right now. ****************************************************************************

Bars and Stems:

1) Rando bar, 39 cm outside to outside. Marked "Japan" and "Champion" on one side, with a wreath and "KB" above a shield on the other side. In just swell shape, comes with stem marked "SR Royale" in a circle, looking sort of like a poor man's old Cinelli 1A, with the plug type extender. Seven cm extension on stem, comes with old Grande Compe levers that have hoods that are trash, and a set of Suntour ratchet bar ends. $35.00 plus shipping.

2) 'Nother Rando bar/stem. Bar marked "Sakae Randonner" on one side and " Road Champion" on the other in wreaths. Center area in good shape, but bar needs cleaning. 41 cm outside to outside. Stem looks like SR's version of the techtonic, it's a high rise and has a 8.5 cm extension. $20.00 plus shipping.

3) AVA death stem and bars. Stem marked AVA, bars have no marks at all. Stem has exposed quill bolt and front bar pinch bolt, 8 cm extension. Bars have no marking at all, 41 cm outside to outside. Mafac levers, with white covers on the lever handles, no top covers, for display porposes only. $10.00 plus shipping.

4) Cinelli bars and stem. Stem is a 1A, (that is the model, isn't it, with the plug expander, instead of the wedge, allen bolt in the quill, and pinch bolt under the bars?) with a 7cm extension. Says "Cinelli" on the top. Bars have the name "Cinelli" in a crest, with "Milano" underneath, on one side. The other side is oblitereated. Shame. Still, put it on your commuter bike for

$25.00 plus shipping.

5) Nitto 104 bar, in very nice shape, 42 cm outside to outside, with a somewhat plain looking Nitto stem, 7 cm extension. $20.00 plus shipping.

6) 'Nother Nitto bar and stem. Bar is and old 115, marked "Nitto" and "Olympiade" in a wreath on one side and on a globe on the other, in very nice shape, the stem is a Nitto, which has an "I-beam" type extension. It doesn't say that on the stem, that's just how I discribe it. 8 cm extension and the quill takes a plug instead of a wedge type expander. The quill bolt and plug are gone. The bar pinch bolt is presant. A pair of Suntour Superbe break levers with fosselized hoods are on the bars. $25.00 plus shipping.

7) Specialized big dirt drop bar with big old stem. Bar marked "Specialized" on each side and "BB1" under one side. In fine shape. Flared ends go out to 56 cm. Stem is dirt drop type, unknown maker, anodized a strange dark color, and has some scratches that go thru coloring. 13 cm extension. $25.00 Plus shipping.

8) And completing this catagory, an unknown, unmarked bar, 42 cm outside to outside, with a stem that is marked "Compe Forged" on the top, and has an exposed nut on the quill bolt. The extension is 9 cm and a sort of an "aero tear drop shape". Bar has old Dia-Compe levers with Weinman hoods which look good, but I think will tear if you try to turn them inside out. Suntour ratchet shifters in the barends. Good for your commuter. $20.00 plus shipping.

Stems only:

9) Cinelli 1A, 10 cm extension, very, very nice shape above min. insertion mark. Older type with exposed nut at back of bar clamp. Says "Cinelli' on top. $25.00 Plus shipping.

10) Cinelli 1A, 14 cm extension, very, very nice shape above min. insertion mark. Has recessed nut at back of bar clamp and allen at front. Says "Cinelli' on top. $25.00 Plus shipping.

Saddles:

11) Unicantor, definately ridable, but has scuffs on top and sides. Writting on sides is pretty much gone. $7.00 Plus shipping.

12) Brooks Pro. Marked "Made in England" and "B 78". The frame or top (I'm not sure which) seems a little twisted, and cattywhompus and the saddle may not be acceptable to some for that reason. Also, there a few divots out of the leather. The leather is really fine except for the divots. The real issue is the frame tweakage. If you can figure it out, $16.00 Plus shipping.

Posts:

13) Zues, 2 bolt Campy copy, 26.2, some rust spots on the clamping hardware and scrapes on the bottom. Definatly in the "user" catagory, but she's all there. $17.00 Plus shipping.

14) Holy bellbottoms, Batman! Talk about the 70's, here's a Campy NR 2 bolt post, 27.0, with 34 big holes drilled into it. This one's for display purposes only, and has traces of rust on the clamping hardware. $14.00 Plus shipping.

Cogs and Freewheels:

15) 19 tooth 1/8 in. track cog. Came on a 70's Campy track hub (no that is not for sale). It's black, and has plenty of threads, but no markings. If it's Campy, it's the only Campy thing that I have ever seen that they don't mark. In good shape. $15.00 Plus shipping.

15) NOS Malliard freewheel, the one with the big splines. 14-28. 5 speed. Has some shop wear, and one of the teeth on the 28 has a big burr on it, as though it was dropped on a concrete floor. English threaded. Swell for the right resto. $25.00 Plus shipping.

16) Notched Regina 5 speed, 14-26. Dirty, but in good condition. I don't really know what the threading is. $25.00 Plus shipping.

17) Suntour Pro Compe 5 speed, 14-21. In good shape. Notched 2 dog remover. $15.00 Plus shipping.

18) Same thing but 14-22 (for hill work). $15.00 Plus shipping.

Bottom Brackets and Spindles:

19) Campy NR, Eyetalian threaded, off a double. Used, but in good shape. 112mm? $30.00 Plus shipping.

20) SunTour Superbe Pro spindle. For a Superbe Pro double crank. They are supposed to have an exotic taper all their own (at least according to some people, other people say uh-uh). 112mm. NOS, I have two of these, each $12.00 Plus shipping.

Derailers: 3 Simplex metal rear derailers, LJ somethings, I would guess. The glue-on badges from the front of the derailer bodies (I'll bet that they origionally said "Peugeot") have all come off, but otherwise, they are complete. Derailers are used, but in good shape.

21) 2 long cage, each $20.00 Plus shipping.

22) 1 short cage. $20.00 Plus shipping.

23) An old Shimano Titlest, short cage. $8.00 Plus shipping.

24) Suntour Cyclone, long cage. Complete, used, good shape, but the black behind the letters on the faceplate is mostly gone. $35.00 Plus shipping.

25) Simplex Criterium Front derailer. Nasty scrapeing on the inside of the inner cage, but all there. $20.00 Plus shipping.

Brakes:

26) One pair of Mafac Competion, calipers only, Dirty, but all there. I have it on good authority that Mario Andretti won the '77 Tour De France on these, so I'm asking $6000, and well worth it! OK, just checking to see if you are still with me. $6.16. Plus shipping.

27) One pair of Universal levers, the kind with the cable adjusters on the top of the lever body. The kind that went with the "solid linkage quick release" type sidepull brakes. These are "Topless" (now I have your attention again), in other words, the hoods are long gone. $15.00 Plus shipping.

28) One pair of Shimano Tourney center pull calipers, dirty. $9.00 Plus shipping.

29) One single (front) Shimano Dura Ace center pull brake caliper. I believe that this was the very first Dura Ace brake. It lacks brake shoes and the shaped washer/shim things that go between the brake and frame. Could be a good front brake for your fixed gear. $10.00 Plus shipping.

Cranks:

30) Here's a good one, a Stronglight 93, crank arms, rings 42-52 (rings are in rough shape, especially the big one) and bottom bracket. The fixed cup edges are a big rough too. I had to play "good cop, mostly bad cop" to get it out of the frame. French threaded. No chainring bolts. Crank arms themselves are in very good shape and could be buffed up all purdy. 170 mm, English pedal threads.

$40.00 Plus shipping.

31) Another oldie, goldie. TA Cyclotouriste. Complete 170, rings are 32-42-52 and in very good shape. BB is marked "Peuguot" and I'm not sure what the threading is. Feel lucky? The price is good. The only thing that may not please is that the arms are painted black in the flutes and a bit of this, especially on the right arm, has come off. You can either paint it back on, or take it all off.

$60.00 Plus shipping.

32) Stronglight 93 left arm only. User quality, but good to go. 170, english pedal threads. $10.00 Plus shipping.

33) Mysterious French left crank arm of unknown provenence. Looks a little like a Campy NR, and a little like a TA cyclototuriste. Anodized, silver, has a flute, 170, states proudly: "Made in France L". $5.00 Plus shipping.

Wheels and hubs:

34) One pair of 27 inch wheels. Sunshine high flange hubs, hallow axle, clean, shiney and well maintained. No skewers, rims are Mavic Module E, 27 1/4. Comes with usable high pressure tires with some life left. The front wheel is true, the rear has a very small tick of side to side out of roundness. 5 speed freewheel on the rear, looks like a 14 -34, o.l.d. about 124 mm. It's a 4 dog Suntour type remover with one notch gone. Overall, very nice wheels, if you need 27's. You won't find better for $20.00 Plus shipping.

35) One pair of Hi-e hubed tubular wheels. Hubs are small flange, 36 hole. No skewers. Rear is spaced at 120. These are from the 70's some time and have been "put up" for a number of years. The guy that I got them from rides only dirt now. They are overall in decent clean condition, but look as though they have been sitting for some time. They don't shine, but you can fix that. Rims are Super Champion Arc En Ciel and both wheels are true. $65.00 Plus shipping.

36) One wheel, rear only, Hi-e, high/low flange hub, Super Champion Arc En Ciel rim. The drive side is high flange, the non drive side is low flange. The wheel seems "sort of" true, but is missing 5 spokes. From my experience wheel building and repairing, I believe that if the spokes are put in and the wheel tensioned up, she'll run true. The price on this wheel is very high because of the correspondingly high cool factor and the fact that I really don't want to sell this hub. However, if you cough up the semolians, it's yours. Except for the spokes, the condition is the same as the previous wheelset. $80.00 Plus shipping.

And now, (drum roll please...)

***********************A Special Malliard Helicomatic Section!********************

Come on, I know that you Helicomatic people are lurking out there and I promise to keep your names confidential and ship your product in a plain wrapper, so no one will know.

37) One pair of 27 1/4 wheels. Rims are Matrix Safari, made in USA, 27 1/4, grey anodized and run true. Rear hub is Malliard Helicomatic, low flange, hollow axle, with 6 speed 14-28 freewheel. Front hub is Malliard low flange, hollow axle. Speidle skewers front and rear. Tires and tubes, these wheels are ready to go. $45.00 Plus shipping.

38) One pair of 27 1/4 wheels. Rear rim is Wolber Model 58, Super Champion. Front is Weinman 2313 alloy. No skewers on these. Front runs true, but feels very gritty, rear has some wobble, could most likely be trued. 13-28 6 speed freewheel. Tires and tubes. Both hubs are low flange, front is Malliard hollow axle, rear is Helicomatic, hollow axle. $20.00 Plus shipping.

39) 3 Helicomatic hubs, 2 freewheels, only one lockring. Freewheels are 13-28 and 14-28, both 6 speed. Get them out of here for $30.00 Plus shipping.

Sica Frame Pumps: I have 6 of these. 3 are frame fit, and 3 have the ornate handles that require a pump peg, either bolt on, or as part of the bike. A few are used and old and could profit from a cleanup, maybe with fast acting Babbo (no disrespect to Comet users or those who may not have used fast acting Babbo intended). The three frame fit:

40) Silver grey in color, looks NOS, about 19" uncompressed, 17.5" compressed. Leather gasket needs grease and you will have to cut a leather seal to go beneath the head, because it's missing. Plastic head. $17.00 Plus shipping.

41) Celeste Green, looks NOS, about 24" uncompressed, 22 1/4" compressed. Good to go, for your old Bianchi, if you are a big frame person. Don't find these any more, especially NOS. Plastic head.

$30.00 Plus shipping.

42) White, same size as the one above, but dirty and old looking. Needs fast acting Babbo. Also has a crack about 1/2" long at the end where the threaded bit holds the plunger in, but it works. Comes with a Campy metal head. It may continue to work, with careful handling, for years to come, or, it may break tomorrow, leaving you with nothing usable except a Campy metal head.

$20.00 Plus shipping.

The three "need a pump peg" ones:

43) A nice medium deep red, 19 1/4" uncompressed to 17 1/2" compressed. Just a little dirty, may actually be just shop wear, hard to tell, but I can't see any wear where the pump peg would go. Got a red bike? Plastic head, good to go. $20.00 Plus shipping.

44) Bright medium yellow, can't see wear at the pump peg area on this one either, but it's definately dirty. 21 1/4" uncompressd, 19 3/4 compressed. Good to go. Yellow bikes don't normaly get the respect that they deserve because of a consortium of anti yellow bike hooligans, but even if you had an orange bike with yellow tape... $20.00 Plus shipping.

45) Medium grey in color, 21" uncompressd, 19 3/4 compressed. Good to go, the only problem is that the bottom of the handle has a few divots broken out of it. Cosmetic flaw, but otherwise intact. Fairly clean, plastic head. $15.00 Plus shipping.

Frames:

46) Medium dark red, paint has some rough spots, 25 1/2 C-T, nice lugs with cut-outs, flat fork crown, fork tips are Campy, with eyelets. Drop outs are horizontal, with eyelets, can't tell the maker because they are drilled, 4 small holes above and 4 below (think of the wieght savings!). Feller said it was a Proteus kit that he made in the 70's. All DB 531, except for the top tube which was Columbus for some reason. Has a small wheel on the bottom right of the down tube, which is the RD cable guide. Comes with a headset. Locknut is marked Dura Ace, but I don't think that the rest is. Nice frame if you are a great big old person. No chrome. $20.00 Plus shipping.

47) Miele, 23' C-T, blue with chrome fork. Sticker says Tange #5. Lugged steel, short horizontal drop outs, decent workmanship, rear triangle is out of alingment. Pump peg, one set bottle braze ons and down tube shifter braze ons. The money that I'm charging above shipping is to motivate me to box it up if anyone is interested. Comes with head set. If no one wants it, it goes to the metal recyclers. $10.00 Plus shipping.

48) Raleigh Grand Sports. 24 1/2" C-T, white with blue head tube and blue bands on seat tube. Half chrome on fork and stays. I believe that this model had 531 main triangle? Nice old frame. Problem is it has a bottom of an old stem broken out, stuck in the steerer. I think that could be solved in about 30 minutes with a hacksaw blade and punch and some skill, but you need to know that it's there before you buy. The money that I'm charging above shipping is to motivate me to box it up if anyone is interested. Comes with head set. If no one wants it, it goes to the metal recyclers. $10.00 Plus shipping.

49) Stella, 22 1/2" C-T. Powder blue. Half chromed fork and flat chromed fork crown. Sticker says tubing is "Tubes Leggers Durifort" Paint has rough spots and so do the decals. Here's the hard part: at the top of the fork blades, both sides, and at the top of the down tube, the paint is wrinkled. I can't see any bend or bulge to the fork tubes, but there is a little bulge under top of the head tube. You know and I know that the bike has been front ended. I rode it before I tore it down, and it tracks straight, no hands. I really think that it will be ok, if you can get past knowing that it's been whumped. Luggs are fairly nice for a production bike drop outs are Huret. I'd just like to see it get a home. I don't see many of these. Threading and sizing are French, French, French and French. The money that I'm charging above shipping is to motivate me to box it up if anyone is interested. Comes with head set. If no one wants it, it goes to the metal recyclers.

$10.00 Plus shipping. P.S. The head set is indexed. Thought that this bike was pre-indexing, didn't you?

50) Peugeot black frame, 21" C-T, "Tube Special Peugeot 103". Lugged steel, flat fork crown, probubly early 80's, no dr. hanger, drop outs are stamped. Tain't much folks, but for a commuter, fixed gear, or whatever, this could be ok for you. The money that I'm charging above shipping is to motivate me to box it up if anyone is interested. Comes with head set. If no one wants it, it goes to the metal recyclers. $10.00 Plus shipping.

51) Big white frame. 25" C-T. Feller says it's a Winsor. Says he dosen't know what the tubing is, but says that it's a non racing oriented frame and comfortable to ride. He is a recreational type rider, but went for click shifting and aluminium. Lugs are quite ornate, but don't show any hand finishing (i.e. feathering), head lugs and fork crown are chromed. Fork and stay ends are chromed. Fork tips are unmarked, and have eyelets. Drop outs are marked "Suntour 34 Max", and have eyelets. BB is eyetalian. Paint is pretty good overall. If it were my size, I would just clean it up, build it and ride it. Chrome is excellant. $30.00 Plus shipping.

****************************************************************************

OK, this is it! The last, after this, finis.

52) Leather handle bar covering. In a small box, marked "Bike Line by Ambrosio", this stuff is Italian made. It's an NOS leather bar covering, fine fairly thin, with a zipper that you zip up over the bar on each side. It has holes sewn in for the brake mounting posts ( campy of course). No instructions, and I believe that there was a tube of some sort of rubber cement or something of the type, that is gone, and only a plastic applicating nozzel remains. The box is really beat up and the glue is gone, but the leather itself is in first rate condition and NOS. Also be advised that this won't provide much padding (but it will look cool). Cool Mario G had some of this stuff a while back in white. This one is black. $20.00 Plus shipping.

53) Barrelli wheel covers. Italian name, but British made. Black and white, with red and blue accents, complete, some scuffs, but in good shape. When is the last time you saw someone take wheels out of the back of their car, with wheel covers on? These aren't just a slip on cover but are ajustable (to a degree) for size, and have small cords with clips that clip on the spokes to hold everything in place. $30 plus shipping.

If anyone wants Biopace rings, drop me a line and we'll chat.

OK, enough. If you want something, and want fast results, reply with the CR header off of your mailing. I use filters for my mail and stuff with the bike list header will go into the bin of 46,416 messages, on which I'm a little behind right now.
