I'm with Dale, that stuff just fully sucked. OTOH I do love the
C-record crank and FW hubs. I find it very interesting that they
actually survived at all. I think dropping the whole MTB thing was a
really good idea in the long run since it freed up R&D and production
resources. With the return of the popularity of road bikes and the
Daytona (now defunct) group they were able to get a foot back in the
door. (Classic content here) I think the only reason they did
survive was the diehard customer base they built up in the 15 years
prior to Tullio's death. I'm long out of my "Campy is the best"
phase of my life, but even I have a certain loyalty to them. . . I
even bought an older SR seatpost this evening.
