Greetings Fellow Cyclists,
I have a wonderful old MASI GC circa 1978. As have many before me, I am trying to determine the actual builder of my frame (if possible). I had bought the frame from a racer named Dave Thomas from Buffalo, NY. in spring of 1979 (I was living there at the time). He had ordered the frame custom-made and he claimed at that time it was a Confente MASI. At that time that fact made little impression on me - I raced only a few times then and not at all now (I'm 41). Today I am restoring the bike as best I can with all of the parts I couldn't afford as a poor student. I have searched the web and read the article supplied by Jim Cunningham discussing serial numbers. The serial number of my frame reads: C7806. If I understand the article correctly, it means that it was the 6th frame made in 1978 by builder "C". Would any of the MASI experts on the list know who that builder might have been?
