At the risk of reinforcing bad patterns... I know that some people on this list feel that we focus a little too much on 1960's to 1980's Italian race bikes and particularly on Campy NR / SR parts. I do not wish to reinforce this sentiment. I really do want people to contribute more stuff about older bikes, about French, English, US, Japanese, Scottish, etc. However, we do get an awful lot of questions pertaining to NR, SR, R, SL, GS, etc., and I wonder if we shouldn't generate some sort of document that summarizes Campy stuff from this era. Chuck and others have provided an excellent referrence in the form of the Campy Timeline, but it treats all of Campagnolo's history (through SR) and is based explicitly on information from published catalogs. Since we have had so many threads on the history of the GS, R, SL, NR post, the R, SL, SR pedals, the whole hub naming issue etc, I wonder if we shouldn't have a resource that is organized in a totally different way. Rather than a chronological summary of changes to the products, it could be arranged by component. It might include the dates of introduction, the diffence from one part to another, etc. We could get carried away, adding information on all the minute changes to the SR derailleur, for example, but that's not my point. I'd like to just his the highlights. You know, the info that is on the timeline, and maybe a few other things, but arranged so you can just go to "hubs" and find out what changed through time, and approximately when the changes ocurred. OKay, so I've said all this, so I suppose I should get started on the project. Ugghhh. Tom Dalton Bethlehem, PA Jonathan Russell <jonathanrussell@csi.com> wrote: Two questions.

1) What is the difference between SR and NR hubs...36 spoke...low flange?

2) What is the difference between SR and NR brake calipers?

I am shopping for both on ebay, online, etc and am having trouble telling one from another. Many sellers simply refer to the above as "Record". Are there any differences? Are they the same?

Also, can anyone can point me to an online #17 and #17a Campagnolo catalog.

Thanks for any information offered.
