I think Tom is on to something here.
I guess we should just all buy Chuck's campagnolo catalogue archive.... I do remember seeing a cycling magazine from Japan a few years ago that a friend had brought back from his trip, It had a double page spread of every imaginable campagnolo rear derailleur, all lined up It was very informative to see all the subtle changes next to each other like that.

What I want to do is give CR folks a resource that identifies the different models so that they will know the history of the changes, what is correct for their projects and what they might want to be shopping for a swap meets, on CR, or on Ebay.
But I don't think I can do it alone....
