Hi Brandon,

I used Duopar for touring bikes when I was building frames. These were the best shifting rears aroung, much better than the half hearted Campagnolo Rally. I only used the Ti version, the steel ones looked too cheap. Function is the same though. I just tried to find one for my 1980 first Merz mountain bike (am I not to talk about these here?). Very hard to find it seems, I only found a steel one. Anyone have a Ti one for this project? Only problem with them is in some cases the chain will come off the jockey wheel if you pedal backwards. Next time you pedal forward the thing is history. Shimano made a similar derailleur called Deore Super plate. I was thinking of plugging Frank Berto's book "the Dancing Chain", I am sure this was old news here. I think this book is a great read, shows quite a lot of what went on in the development of the bicycle.

Put me in the posse too. Of course I also like Moultons and Flying Gates, so I guess there's no accounting for taste.

Anyway, what's the story with the Huret Duopar? I know there were three versions, alloy and titanium, all alloy, and alloy and steel. What are peoples opinions on these versions shifting, merits, and quality? Also what's the current market for these things these days?
