My '89 Merckx Grand Prix was built with 130 spacing. I believe that was right around the time the transition started. Also believe that Campy's short-lived 7sp cassette was 130, which would seem to correspond. I know we're pushing the boundaries of the mid-80s time frame, but still think some of this stuff is relevant, particularly with regard to the "end" of the freewheel/friction era as "normal" bike fare.
