It looks to me like the person who "built" the wheels dropped all the non-drive-side (small-flange) spokes in from the inside, rather than to alternate them. I build my own wheels, though I'm not a pro like Jamie Swan or Sheldon; but this still doesn't look kosher to me.

Check out another Hi-Lo set of hubs, this tiem built up. The low flange side does however have extremely questionable spoke pattern that I would not expect to be very good for the spokes or hub. Any comments about this lacing pattern?
