By the way, many French tandems used a nice looking fillet brazed twin plate fork crown. I've seen these with bikes built in the late '50s up to the '80s. (They could still be making them but I haven't seen any new French tandems during the lastr few years, now that there are so many American tandem specialists.) So, while these French twin plate forks may also look a bit "industrial" - being fillet brazed - their appearance also "flowed" in an attractive manner.
