Subject: [CR]1980's Masi Grand Criterium Specs

Budget permitting, I may begin hunting for an Italian built 1980's Masi Grand Criterium F&F (preferred) or compleat. So, I need to do some research. I apologize for the newbie type questions but I was not exposed to the Masi culture (nor much of any come to think of it). I need to ensure I find the right size and, that, in my ignorance, I don't purchase a frame of questionable origin. Can anyone assist, please ?

First, frame height sizing - What scale was used; that is, odd, even, whole, half ? (eg: 50 vs. 51; 50 vs. 50.5). My fit is 50 to 52, with 51 being best.

Secondly, I assume the following as working hypotheses for all Italian built 1980's Grand Criteriums a) All will be identified by some type of made in Italy decal. and carry a serial number consistent with the numbering scheme explained previously in these Lists. b) All years were built with "traditional" steel tubing; that is, circular rather oval or multiple contour and some flavour of Columbus. c) All were built and signed by Falerio (spelling ?); that is, none were built anonymously and merely badged as Masi. d) All years are of equal quality of workmanship and materials; that is, no year performs slightly less than another say for reason of some bad drop-outs or corrupted solder e) All years are of equal aesthetic/designer quality; that is, one year is not more prized than other say, for example, a more esteemed designer or lug shape.
