I visited Pogliaghi's shop in Sep. 1982. I found there some different atmosphere than at other shops; Masi, Casati, Marnati, Lupo, Galmozzi, Pettenella ... There were 3 or 4 persons at the small shop and immediately after I entered it , one told me " Lets make a frame with these Tange tubes " " Tange is the best"...... At that time I was confident that I could not be seen as rich as to be able to buy a new frame.
To my eyes a bicycle there looked gaudy and vulgar with much engravinng with yellow paint roughly poured in. And it did not have the fastback seatstays on the contrary to my expectation. I think it had same seatstay plugs as on eBay now.
After that I asked Galmozzi about Pogliaghi and he told me he heard that Pogliaghi had some financial problem and that the persons I met might be collectors of debts. ( Sante Pogliaghi was the only builder that Angelo Galmozzi spoke highly of. )
Since then I went there a few times but the shop was always closed . I heard that Pogliaghi was bought by Rossin and in 1984 found an advertisement of Pogliaghi on " La Bicicletta" ; newly published magazine. The bicycle on it had the fastback seatstays. It is similar to ; http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Poglia_DBbik.html but the decals are not block- letter-type but older type.
Sante Pogliaghi was alive in mid 1980s. I read an interview with him in mid or late 1980s.
