Hello all! I've been reading the strands lately, and I'm relieved to know that others go through the same digging up of arcane info. as I do. Still, I am fairly new to the bicycle scene, being one of those returnees. My old Torpado Superlight sat in the basement for about ten years, waiting patiently for me to figure out how wonderful she is. I was inline speed skating 5 times a week last year, when someone persuaded me to do a little "mini" triathlon. You wouldn't have known by the way I skated that I had been practicing all summer, and the final run was more like a stagger, but to my amazement the bike felt like I had never left the seat!!! Bang...done deal: the skates went to that basement, and the bike came out into the light of day for good. Now, I have decided to refinish it (I just don't like the Torpado signature team color of teal, their version of celeste green). Her parts (less the Italian specifics) are currently being kept exercised on an early 80s "NoodleVitus" (looks great, with a sweet wiggle). Also, I picked up a 73 or 74 Paramount track bike with full Campy Pista parts. I'm eager to try it out by learning how to use our new velodrome at Bloomer Park, here in Rochester Michigan. It looks pretty daunting from the outside, but I hear it's not bad once you get going. More on that later... I have quite a few questions. Must I send them separately, or can I start a strand with a subject like "Multiple questions that need answers"? Thanks for letting me in on the mailing list, and rest assured that I won't be sending long additions like this one in the future.
Best regards,
