Greg,
I have a Bob Jackson raceing trike I ordered in about 1990. It's a gas to ride upon occassion; just ask some of the San Diego vintage crowd. I don't know how often they come up on eBay but you can still order one for reasonable money from Bob Jackson. There are a few other trike builders in the UK that are more specialized at it, but they cost almost twice what a Jackson does.
I'll bring my trike to Pasadena since I didn't bring it out last year. It's a 20" frame and has light tubular wheels so I'm not going to let it get passed around. It's too easy to pile it into a tree or something unless one is pretty experienced at handeling a trike. If you plan on shopping for a trike it might be a good idea to consult me with the details so I can help you stear clear of obsticles (as we hang off the side of the bike at high speed in a turn).
There is also such a thing as a "trike conversion kit" which I believe costs around $850 and can be had from some maker in the UK. I think Roger at World Class Cycles in NY knows about them.
Any trike guys on the list in the UK?
