Several of my personal bikes are set up this way in front. See: http://sheldonbrown.org/raleigh-baylis for a photo of one of 'em.

Works great for front wheels, easiest with radial spoking.

It's hard to get decent clincher rims in 24 hole, unfortunately.

Bear in mind that I only weigh 260, and I'm careful not to go too fast when hopping curbs...
