ALAN's are definitely on topic here. The value of course depends on condition and components, but they usually go for a few hundred $ in good condition. Like French bikes, you won't often see them much above $500, in ALAN's case because of concern about metal fatigue in aluminum frames. Personally, I think this concern is greatly exaggerated, and it doesn't stop me riding my two ALAN's. If the bike has few miles, there is even less concern. An ALAN may not make the ideal triple, as many had very tight racing geometry, meaning short chainstays and acute chain angle. Also, many people who like triples also want mudguard clearance, which many ALANS lack. However, ALAN also made a lot of cylcocross bikes. These had more clearance and longer stays and would probaly adapt well to triples.
