Yes, this IS classic content - lamenting the loss of (classic) tan sidewalls! Getting hard to find tires with "that classic look". The Vittoria Cor$a CX is wonderful, as is the Veloflex Pave. Neither are tough enough for city riding.

I love the avocets, they are super reliable tires, very tough especially with the Kevlar belts. The last thing I want to do on a beautiful classic bike is change a tire in the field. Still have 5 or 6 sets in storage, including 2 in 27" for the old Alex Singer.

Compact cycling computers; anatomic saddles for men and women; tires with innovative tread for grip and speed; altimeter technology for cycling, skiing, and hiking; and heart rate monitors for precise training. Their R20 FasGrip 700C clincher tire is still my favorite for European Alps tours and bombing on the fire roads of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Unfortunately, no longer available with the tan sidewall. Only black. Yuck! Jan (former Avocet/Palo Alto Bicycles employee, who got busted several times by Bernie for sliding down the loading ramp inside the store) Johnson Palo Alto, CA
