Yes, I made all my touring bikes with Campy triple cranks. The 36t inner ring was replaced with my 31t ring in most cases. I also sold hundreds of triple converter rings and inner rings. Mike Sinyard sold these before I worked at Specialized Bike. I never had any trouble with my touring bikes cranks, but broke several on my commuting bikes.
