Remember Steve Martin in 'The Jerk', when he felt he was 'somebody' after his number was published in the phone book? Well, I feel just a little like that after seeing Dale's new pictures on the CR website. My commute frame (83 Bianchi Limited) is one of the frames hanging on the wall of Ed Litton's shop. WooHoo! My bike's on the web! ;^)

I had stopped in at Ed's shop for another small project and to chat and checked out the progress on the frame repair (cracked BB). Like the Dolt that I am my mouth opens and I hear myself say 'wow, you can't even see the repair'. With only a trace of a smirk Ed replied that that is how it's supposed to look.

I'm quite happy to see Ed Litton getting some attention on the list here. I've stopped by his shop quite a few times in the last year and so many times I've been able to see the bikes that we talk about on the list. That's a treat that can't be discounted. (As for Ed's prices being reasonable, I think he would have to raise them for them to be reasonable.;^)

On another list topic, it's like old home week hearing the mention of Nobilette and Cycle Cellar. Fellow list member Tom Adams and I used to ride past the Cellar on North Main on our way to Huron River Drive and Dexter and points north and west in the Ann Arbor area. Being a poor student, and even poorer University employee later I never had much money to spend in that shop, but I did browse it often.
