I am worried about the suggestion of using BRAKE FLUID as a restoritive or a preservative for HOODS.............rubbers bits in the brake system of a car are a special compound.I believe that normal rubber will swell or in the case of gum rubber disolve! Maybe CHRIS could give a more difinitive answer.
