(Has anyone on the list owned a bike more than 40 years? Could be an
interesting thread.)
I have 3 bikes that I have owned for more than half my life and bought with my own money. I intend to keep them at least 40 years. I was also given a 1937 Bianchi by my mother-in-law that had belonged to her father since new! Apart from the tires and tubes, it is all perfectly original, it even has the remnants of the wartime white painted rear mudguard (under curfew regulations all bikes needed to have the mudguard painted white for safety). Up until a few years ago, when they simply couldn't be patched anymore, it still even had period latex tubes (with over 30 patches and pre-presta style valves!)
