Hi Guys and Gals:
I bought a Cilo made to the specification of Jean Brun of Geneva while I was living there in 1964.In its original paint,it was a bit fancier than an Allegro special or a Paramount. All the usual frame details of the period-Nervex Professionals including the bottom bracket,3/4 wrap tapered square end seatstay attachment,Reinforcements on the bridges, and so on.Mostly '64 Record group except steel Stronglight 55 with Simplex rings.
I just stepped off that bike 45 minutes ago.It has had some misfortunes along the line,so it is carrying some Imron from Keith Bontrager's old home shop, and the fork is a geometrically correct French Reynolds one that is not so highly finished. It's set up as a five speed urban penetration tool at this point, and most of the parts are before 1972.Cranks are Record track with the cracks filed away,I hope.
I visited the Brun shop four years ago,and they gave me a new nameplate.I told them that I have a collection of bikes, but the Brun is My Bike, while the others are Some Bikes.
