Bicycle Guide was a competitor to Bicycling. The first editor (publisher?) was John Schubert, who left Bicycling to start this one (as I recall it). Like some other ventures, it started with lofty goals and great aspirations, although even I was asked to be an honorary "technical advisor" of one sort of another. Schubs is still around, near Trexlertown PA, and is still a fine fellow. Once in a great while, he goes over to the T-town swap meet with me to chuckle...
