Hi all
it is not often that I get excited about a bike purchase nowadays (they are not mine anyway, they are just passing through). However, i opened a box this morning and have a peek inside, at a bike that i have been waiting a few weeks for. I do not have the time to unpack and build it up right now and probably will not have for at least two weeks, but that will only add to the anticipation.
Like most of the other rare bikes, it will never live here, (a good customer already has the first option on it) but at least I will get to ride it.
What is it I here you think (?), a Thanet Silverlight! In fact not only a Thanet, but Brian Walkers own Thanet, the one in his sketches. I even have a photo of him in front of Thanets shop, with the bike.
I have some real work to do for the next ten days (real work= actually getting paid for doing it), and then I get to unpack, build and ride this bike. If it does go to the guy with the option, I feel sure many list members will get to see it. for me, it will just be an entry in the accounts, but a nice one at that! I wonder if i have my picture taken next to it, in 50 years time will some one be waxing lyrically about it? I doubt it!
