I just picked this Peugeot Record Du Monde up (from a trash heap) and wanted to get a little more info on it. Pumped the tires up and it has a nice ride, relaxed touring geometry . The seat tube label says 'special allege tubing'....what is that? It has 'ziggurat' or aztec cut outs on the lugs. Any info you have is appreciated. Found next to nothing on the net. I will need to replace the bottom bracket. Will a non-french BB axle (a cotterless is on it now) work if I use the old cups and bearings, or are they also special french sizes? Thanx everyne for help. Also ISO a Specialized Expedition 56cm frame or bike if you have one to part with.
