Mark me down as someone who'd also like to see the pics of the Cosmopolitan! IIRC, this was a lugged aluminum frame, and used rivits to attach the tubes to the lugs? The creator of this, and all Hi-E products, was Harlan Meyer. Harlan started out as an aerospace engineer, and had done design work for Lockheed (on the C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft, I believe), so there would be a natural tendency for him to use assembly techniques on bicycles that were in use on aircraft. Harlan was probably the only person to design bicycle rims built from flat stock and assembled with rivits!
Any info out there on how long the Cosmopolitan was good for? My gut reaction is that the rivited lugs wouldn't be as reliable as tig welding of the tubes.
