Subject: [CR]Identifying year for campy rally

Hi,

I just received a campy rally rear as part of a package of parts I bought. I'd like to be able to place this der. within a time frame. The der. looks like the one in this picture:

(NB: this is not the one I own, it's just the only image I could find)

The part that says campagnolo on it in the picture looks sort of like it's alloy but the one I have is chrome plated. There are some minor pits and flaking on that part. The one in the picture also looks to have a sort of plate that covers the spot where the cable housing joins the der. but mine looks slightly different. Could be the angle of the camera though.

I did a search of the archives but saw mostly postings about NR rears with long cages. What was the time frame that these rear der. were made and how might I be able to put a date or time frame to mine?

thanks,
