Listmembers,

Announcing a vintage ride to accomodate the presence of John Pergolizzi and Mark Petry being in town. This is sort of short notice, but if anyone in the San Diego area wishes to join us we will be meeting at the "usual" spot. In the parking lot of the Hall of Champions/Auto/Aerospace Museums in Balboa Park. Meet at 9:30am and depart at 10:00am. Often we try for a theme on these rides, you know, bring your Italian bike this week and so on. Since we don't want to make John homesick too soon, I'm calling for everyone to bring their any nationality bike; as long as it has a snow plow attached to it. I would also reccommend either good tire chains or studded snow tires as well. The glair ice around here can be nasty. I'm bringing out my 1960's Italian made Zamboni frame with optional plow attachment for the occassion. John should feel right at home!

Luckily the weather will be perfect, for us, tomorrow. As predicted, the minute Perg touched down at Lindburg Field yesterday the snow began to fall here in San Diego. Supposed to continue thru March from what I understand. That's good.........I haven't been able to ride the Zamboni much in the past; I was beginning to wonder why I bought the thing in the first place. Thanks John.

Lunch near the end of the 25 miler which heads out to (snow capped) Point Loma and then back to (iceberg filled) San Diego Bay. We will dine and then finish the last few miles of the ride back to Balboa Park. Remember not to leave any food behind in your cars as there have been a few Polar Bear sightings recently in the park. Oh yeah, and dress warmly.

Hope to see you there (thru my snow goggles).
