I just say go with the Sports Tourer or Superior. One smooth riding, 42" wheelbase, beastly strong bike. Left the "good" bikes home and rode my Sports Tourer the 500 mile trip from Vermont to the Gaspe about 10 years ago. The TA cranks allowed a 26-34 for the headwalls that show up on the roads there and the bike was stable at 60 MPH coming down.
Tip: BMX headsets like Odyssey fit the 26 TPI oddball steerers and are a great value. Sell the Campy Gran Touring boat anchor to someone who loves it.
