I beg to differ, Sir.

Life would have been PERFECT if we all could have ridden TOGETHER as one big happy (dysfunctional) family! Peter and I loaded up the VW with a couple of classic Peter Johnson frames and drove the 380 miles to the Rose Bowl ride, only to learn that half of the So. Cal. group had decided to play in another sandbox on the SAME DAY. What a downer that was. It would have been so much fun if we all could have ridden together.

I'll let Chuck summarize the fun ride we had. There were THREE Peter Johnson frames on the course today. That has to be an all-time record. And I felt the need to show off, so I rode the fixed-gear and it was a gas. A cool Holdsworth, a J.P. Weigle, and several other classy rides. It was a great day, spent with some interesting folks. Oh, yeah....and it was a balmy 82 degrees in Pasadena, that's 27 deg. C.! And we DID ride NAKED! I think someone took photos. It was fantastic.

And on our drive home, Peter and I took Phil Brown's advice and stopped at the Harris Ranch, just north of Coalinga on Interstate 5. Best darn Steakhouse this side of Lubbock! I mean...we splurged on Sirloin and prime rib, baked potato and baked yam, steamed squash, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and Goelitz Candy Corn from the gift shop for dessert. Now, life does NOT get any better than that!

Thanks, Chuck, for a really fun day.

P.S. Please, Guys... I propose we try to avoid scheduling Rose Bowl and Griffith Park rides on the SAME DAY in the future. Thanks.
