Subject: [CR]New member introduction

Hi I'm taking this opportunity to introduce myself to the group. My name is Craig Fenstermaker. I live in Carlsbad California so that I can ride a bike every day of the year if I so choose. I spent the first 18 years of life in Ohio, where once I got into cycling in 1974, riding every day was not always a reasonable option. I DO NOT MISS having to wear a balaclava or having my water bottles freeze.

I'm more of a rider than a collector or "gear nut", but that said, I do most certainly enjoy fine equipment. I currently own, in no particular order; 1. an early 80's Peugot super competion set up as a rain bike with fenders and a fixed gear, yes it does rain here occasionally. 2. an early 90's sannino track bike. 3. a 83 dave moulton fuso, two of them actually. 4. a late 80's CW 26" wheel cruiser. 5. a 97 brian baylis road bike. 6. a 2000 ves mandaric t.t. frame. 7. a 2002 colnago c40, my one foray away from a ferrous frame. 8. a late 80's tom ritchey, (Taiwanese), mountain bike.

I commute, race, play and enjoy therapy sessions while riding. I like riding. A lot! I've been reading the forum for a few months, mainly looking for opportunities to buy wool jerseys or advertising memorabilia.

Now I'm interested in building up a 83 italian project bike and would like to do so with the correct period campy bits. My optimum goal is to score a 50th anniversary groupo , but since my finances are limited I've resigned myself that finding this group may have me out for a long wait. In the meantime, I ask you to contact me if you have reasonably priced used Campy equipment for sale so that I can build and ride this bike.. I do not require n.o.s or n.i.b. I specifically need s.r. headset, brake calipers and levers, d.t. shift levers, front and rear derailleurs, would prefer s.r. rear, 27.2 seatpost, 170 mm crankset with appropriate b.b. I still have plenty of wheels from that time........... [G].

Something else I'm looking for are two used steel mountain bikes / frames. Ideally they would be 17" or smaller. I want to cut them up and recycle the useful bits into a homebuilt tandem. No suspension bits desired.

Ps, I'm not hip on dealing with ebay, I'd much prefer to do biz face-face or voice-voice.

Thanks for your time.

Craig Fenstermaker
