Toeclip overlap is in some cases absolutely necessary in order for some of us to have fairly equal distribution of weight between the two wheels in order to improve the handling characteristics. It is a bit for some riders to get used to at first, but after a while anticipation of it is just as natural as... riding a bike (you never forget).
