Actually, if you look closely at the Peugeot on eBay, it is not alloy, but steel. Super Vitus 980 was a lightweight steel tubeset which many consider as good as or better than Reynolds 531. Peugeot did sell Peugeot-badged Vitus alloy frames, but this is not one of them. I don't think Peugeot ever used Vitus steel tubing on absolute top-of-the line models, but did use it on models one or two steps down. Considering the high quality of Super Vitus 980, that would probably have made this frame quite a bargain when new.
