My 1972 Nishiki Competition (for which I traded in my 1971 Nishiki Custom) had double-butted cro-mo tubing with wrap-around stays. The crank was a Sugino Mighty Compe (not a triple), the derailleurs SunTour VGT, the shifters bar-cons, the paint orange, the script very "Oriental". It was badged a Nishiki, but the Custom was badged "American Eagle." (The Eagle had a Shimano Eagle rear derailleur, by the way.)

There was a "Semi-Pro" in the shop when I bought mine; I remember it was silver and had tubulars--though that's all I remember about it.

I sold the frame about a year ago and wonder how it's doing. . . .

It'd be nice if there were a Nishiki site, as Skip suggests. Let us know if you find out more about your frame, Jose!
