Maybe I should rephrase the question, anyone know of another winner of the Tour, Vuelta, Giro, 5 times Milan-San Remo, Paris-Roubais, multiple World Championships, World Hour Record, every classic worth mentioning, who rode "his own" frames so early in his career? Hmmm... maybe his early sponsors saw something in him which made them humor him.
