Shill bidding is pretty prevalent out there. I had caught on to one individual once trying to outbid them and then picked up on it later on another auction for a similar item. same seller, same person pushing my bid higher. I didn't take the bait the second time and let my bid remain low and did not counter. The item was far over what it should have been selling for...and the shill bidder won! It wasn't more than 2 days later the seller contacted me trying to sell it for the high bid claiming the high bidder had backed out. I told him to choke on it and never bid on another item. I still see his auctions out there! It wasn't the same seller.
I do find it Interesting that several other auctions that ended from the same exact Seller of this Brookes had Pamknight as a bidder who drove the price up and up...and even one where Pk won the bid. Must not have been satisified that the item was only selling for $159 or the person is just very interested in similar items which could always be the case and I and others shouldn't be just assuming the worst...
