Subject: [CR]Fixed Gear FREAKS!

Fixed gear rendezvous in Greensboro! It sounds as if there are quite a few fixed gear fans that will be in attendence. OH GOODY! I'm getting my rig ready, sorting through wheels and gears. I really love this bike. It was built as a fixed gear bike and it has all of the features I like in a fixie. A fixed gear bike with double sided hub is about as lean and effecient as a road bike can get. Anyone riding fixed without brakes? No problem, just need to know that. A fixed gear becomes a freewheel bike requiring brakes when using the single speed freewheel option. Mixing fixed and brakes requires everyone to pay closer attention.

I really miss the two FULL toe straps loaded with the majority of my track cogs that took me years to collect. One toestrap was Suntour cogs of every size in both road and track pitch with duplicates. The second one was my Campagnolo selection with alloy and steel cogs in both pitches and all sizes plus some old style steel cogs. DAMN that sucks! They were in my garage/shop. Evaporated into thin air. I no longer have every cog I need to make any gear required. Good track cogs used to be rather cheap in the "old days", but not anymore. Bummer.

So is there going to be an identifyer to keep the FREAKS seperated from the real cyclists?? How about a permanent ink stamp on the forehead that reads "DORK" or something like that? How about some artwork, Chuck? I'll cut the design on a potato if I have to!

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Hey, I've been called worse things........LOTS of times!
