Subject: [CR]Classic Carnac shoes

The Carnac shoes are available from France. Carnac USA is afraid to bring them into the U.S., because they don't want to appear "retro."

If anybody wants a pair, I can order from France. However, it is prepaid only and no returns. They fit like Sidi Dominators (i.e., if you wear a 43 in those, order a Carnac 43), but are a bit wider. Nicely made, soles seem stiffer than the Sidi Touring shoes you sometimes see.

These are NOT racing, but touring shoes - no cleat at all. Perfect for most riding, but you can pull out in all-out sprints, etc. They are all black, very classic looking. Sole is plastic. Upper is leather (or a very good imitation).

The cost would be around $ 100-110 plus $ 9 shipping per pair. Let me know if interested, and I'll explore this further.

I got mine only a couple of months ago, and only have about 200 km on them. How they work and hold up in the long run, I don't know. That said, most older cyclotourists in France seem to wear these.
