I agree with Richard, who agrees with Jerry. . . Oh, I better add something so this isn't just an atta-boy. I think reproductions have a very important role to play in our hobby and that's one of the main reasons behind starting Ivycycles. I want to ride the same kinds of bikes Oscar Egg and "Mile-a-Minute" Murphy did and ride them heavily. On the longshot that I could actually find such a bike I don't think I'd be willing to take it out for 25 in the rain. After reading a Lillian Jackson Braun mystery novel I decided I need to build a Thanet Silverlite like her main character Jim Qwilleran rides. These bikes are bikes I'll most likely never be able buy, but I can make reproductions. I won't ever try to pass them off as the originals and will make changes to the original designs to "improve" them. It's not about the original it's about the spirit of the original.
