well, on that note, i must say that one of my coworkers, a little while back, emailed merckx about reproducing his just-out-of-cr-period frame (when you love a bike, and youve ridden it almost into the ground...) - and their (somewhat slow) response was basically "if you send us the serial number, we can make it for you"... the impression given was that they could simply duplicate any frame theyve ever built... no word on the cost or availability of the same frame materials as of yet, but stiil, pretty cool, if you ask me...
