Hi, Aldo,

The black pivot arm of SR front and rear mech are purely cosmetic, but SL pedal came out right around 1970 is cosmetic as well as practical purpose. See the pedal cages will be exposed to many hostile matters from shoes/ground.

By the way, I recently found very first "black" alloy cage SL pedal that has exact same cut out pattern of "steel"-chrome ones. The most of alloy ones have smaller hole opening to enforce cage structure.

KEN TODA, High Point, NC, always wondering about Italian NEVER the same designs!
