jan don't hate me for this but... i have been a long-time advocate for leaving all criticism of ebay auctions, items, item texts, and sellers off of the CR list as subjects to discuss. again, that's all <criticism>... in the ol' days, everytime a listee chimed on and noted that 'such and such' item and/or the seller was not all it was trumped up to be, i would post and remark that i thought, for various reasons-all stated many times over and over through the years-that such criticism was not listworthy behavior. it's not as tho' i make the rules-i don't; i just always thought that the posts relevant to this were not very becoming. almost to a person, every time i added my 2 cents, i was told my my brethren that using as ebay items and their descriptions was, indeed, fodder for CR list discussions. the company line was almost always, "we have a right, a duty, to scrutenize all vintage-ish items listed so that those less knowledgeable or percepetive could benefit from the free exchange of information." the last time all this was a list issue, i finally conceded, and mentioned as much onlist-that i was in the minority, and that while i don't like any zingers fired at items or sellers, i will go with the flow and finally keep my opinions to myself. and then, today, "this" happens! e-RICHIE chester, ct
