I picked up the bike today. Musta had severe dementia and/or dyslexia. The frame is an "Ompax" Pro-Racer...ooooooh! Big ugly (metal) headbadge. Looks like full chrome under the metallic red paint. Shimano SF dropouts. Only one braze-on for the rear derailleur cable. My netsearch revealed two hits... one that sold on Bicycle Trader that was described as a "mid 80's Japanese build Tange Pro frameset". That seems to be like this one. The other google hit was a cheapo 10 speed from a John Doe hit-and-run report...yeesh.

The DA group includes, calipers, levers, DT shifters, derailleurs, 36° hubs, 165 crankset, 13-21 cogs (5speed) and top tube cable guides. The gum hoods are dry but not cracked The BB, cable guide and QR's appear to be generic Shimano. I tell you it's been awhile since I had anything nice to say about Shimano. I usually group them in with the "Axis of Evil"...but this stuff is flash!

Bonus points for the two bolt SR Royal seatpost, Nitto Universal bars and 10cm Pearl stem. I like em all. The Mikashima Unique Pedals and leather wrapped clips are also sweet. Never heard of that model but the fit and finish is nice.

Thanks to everyone for the info. Two last questions that I couldn't get answers for in the archive. What was the verdict on the best treatment for gum hoods?...and what year(s) were this DA group made?
