Outstanding pedals, at least for toe clip users. They were also guaranteed for life. We used to joke about whether that meant the life of the pedals or the manufacturer. I guess it was the manufacturer.

I purchased two pair from Shaw's Lightweight Cycles in San Jose, CA in 1977 and put them on my first tandem, built by Dale Saso. Later I purchased a Santana tandem, which I still own, and the Barelli SS caged pedals are still being used on it. Except that my last stoker, well let's just say she was my last stoker, as the tandem is parked indefinitely.

Love those Barelli pedals though. Incidentally, they had aluminum or stainless steel cages, which as Hugh said, were replaceable (and interchangeable).
