Rode in -16 celcius to work the a.m., luckily it's a sort commute. Spring is late here, to make the understatement of the year...

As Paul mentioned, Bicycle Specialties is the highlight of the tour de Toronto. Home of mariposa, and Bike Barry's fab collection. http://www.bikespecialties.com/

For a more "eclectic" experience, try High Park Cycle, on Dundas Street West, in the first block west of Keele street. He's on the north side of the street. Looks (and is) a junk shop, totally wacky owner, who will drive you nuts, but you may find a few very unpolished gems. There was a white Pogliaghi track bike hanging there last week, as well as a De Vlaeminck with panto parts looking very sad and under appreciated.
