Subject: [CR]Ellis-Briggs owners out there?

I recently aquired a nice Ellis Briggs touring frame (cut out lugs, everything 531st) from around 1980, that I want to use for everyday commuting. Condition is good but I want to complete it with NOS parts so it could need a repaint. But it's not worth a $350 Joe Bell repaint. Ellis-Briggs is still in business and they offer repaints at their web site for a reasonable price, so it would be the natural choice to have the frame painted there (decals etc). The problem is that the original paint job of the frame is really bad. There are dripping noses, rough areas or no paint at all (hidden area at seat lug behind seat stays...) There's a nice well done Ellis Briggs frame at the CR site, has it been painted by EB? Has anybody else experience with their current paint work? Maybe my frame is just an exception or has been painted elsewhere.
