I have the Gommitalia Calypsos in stock (support your local CR member!) for the same price as the mailorder guys. This is a really old name by the way, they made sewups back in the day. These are made in Thailand like so many tires these days, but they are still very nice tires. Very thin tread though. My wife burned through one in one short inadvertent skid last year. They do look great, like an old sewup. There is even a lighter one, but they get a bit more money for them. Both tires are Kevlar belted.

For 27" tires or even 700C touring tires I like the Panaracer Pasela. A skinside like always, so they look quite vintage. They are Kevlar belted so a bit hard riding but at least you won't get a lot of flats. I commute on them on my '62 Paramount fixie.

And speaking of tires, I just got another batch of Mitsuboshi 650B from Japan after selling out the first batch. If you missed out before, get them now. This was a smaller batch (all they had left) and the shipping and brokerage was a bit more per tire, so they are $40, but still the nicest tire you can find in that size. If I want more they will have to make them again and I will have to come up with an order of 500 and that is not likely to happen.
